The Lemon Drop
A pair of one-bedroom apartments near the south end of Lee University’s campus.
The little yellow 1901 house was the first investment home we purchased in Cleveland, Tennessee.
It was already divided into two, one-bedroom apartments. We kept that floorplan and worked on shoring up the structure and cosmetic renovations. This meant ripping out the floors in both kitchens, adding new floor joists to replace old, rotting ones, laying new subfloor and flooring. This also meant paint. Gallons and gallons of paint. The dark wood paneling was a nice texture, but the color made the rooms look tiny and dark. So we lightened the whole place up, added some swanky curtains, and made it cozy.
This one will get a fresh exterior paint job soon.
What do you think? Yellow again?
